Puerto Rico: Dealing with Natural Disasters
Created by Carmen Collins (PMMA '20), this project highlights Puerto Rico as a case study on the American Dream. The island’s complex history, culture, and language make it a special part of the United States. By examining recent natural disasters such as earthquakes and Hurricane Maria as well as the coronavirus pandemic, my social documentary will be filled to the brim with stories, facts, and figures that need to be told to the world.
An oral history initiative’s response to the COVID-19 threat to its community
Created by Desislava Stoeva (PMMA '20), the following paper looks at the #stayathomewithBIAHI COVID-19 campaign from a case study perspective and offers insights that could be useful for similar, smaller scale non-profits who are faced with the task of creating similar digital response campaigns with limited budgets and human resources.
Seaside Heights Community Reinvigoration Program

Coasters for a Cause

The International Federation of Settlement Houses and Neighborhoods Centers 2021 Communications Plan
Created by Kindred St. Germain (PMMA '21). This communications plan for the International Federation of Settlement Houses and Neighborhood Centers (IFS) analyzes the organization’s current communication methods to develop an audience-centered digital media strategy.
Media With A Mission: Amplifying Oral Histories For Student Research
Created by Rachel Meyer (PMMA '21), this project is focused on amplifying the reach of the BIAHI to students on both the undergraduate and graduate level as a resource for research. She created a digital map that provides a visual representation of where the subjects of BIAHI's interviews grew up, as well as a video tutorial to guide students through the Fordham Library website to access the interviews and their transcripts. She also created some posts for social media and flyers for professors to share with students in the new school year to expand the reach of BIAHI further. It is her hope that students will be aware of the information that BIAHI has made available to them for research in various subjects, all centered around the Bronx.
